It's down to the wire but I'm still convinced

Hello Lions fans out there. Thanks once again for spending a few minutes with me as the season reaches a conclusion.

It really is all down to the wire now. The fact we have only won two of our last six games has us having to defeat the Plymouth Raiders in Devon to ensure a play-off place.

I would be really despondent now but for the fact that last Friday's game against Everton apart, we have played very well in that run and I was and still am convinced we have enough to get the job done.

The game against Everton saw our fourth sell-out in a row and saw the most people at Bletchley Leisure Centre for some years.

We were OK in that game and were within touching distance but really needed a push to heap some real pressure on the Merseysiders. But that wasn't forthcoming and they duly closed out the game.

We had to pick ourselves up, more mentally than physically, for the trip north of the border to face the Rocks and I'm delighted to say the lads showed a real professional attitude and simply destroyed Rocks' resistance very quickly.

Terrell Brown and Jayson Obazuaye were excellent while Yorick Williams was as calm as he has been all season, sinking three-pointers left, right and centre.

A performance like that or better will be required in Plymouth.

The game in Plymouth may well be on BBC Radio Devon, so check the websites if you're not making the long journey down.

There is a lot taking place right now with Lions basketball with some really special news in the offing. Please send us your good wishes for Saturday.

Keep an eye on the websites and let's hope you can cheer us on in the play-offs.

For now though, keep winning and like my beloved Liverpool in the Champions League – I'm out!
