Aspley Guise WI holds first meeting of 2012

The Aspley Guise Evening W.I. met on January 12 for their first gathering of 2012.

A good way to kick off the year, to listen to a local resident, Priscilla Coley who, under the heading of Right Time Right Place, recounted her life story.

At times in her youth we could almost have been listening to shades of Downton Abbey, but culminating in working for the BBC in Bristol, she even had John Betjeman staying overnight in her small flat because he didn’t like staying in hotels.

The next meeting will be on Thursday, February 9 at 8pm in Aspley Guise Village Hall, everyone is welcome.

The speaker will be David Pibworth, who, everyone knows, is the motivating force behind the Milton Keynes Comedy Theatre, which regularly performs at the Chrysalis Theatre. At present he is working on the Vicar of Dibley, dates and booking to be announced.
