TALENTED young pupils from Two Mile Ash School performed a couple of fantastic musical numbers to help celebrate Greg Rutherford’s London 2012 success on Tuesday night.

The youngsters were performing at the Sport Milton Keynes Sports Achiever of the Year awards at Shenley Leisure Centre which honoured the city’s sportsmen, women and clubs for their achievements over the last 12 months. Rutherford was the obvious winner of the main prize on the night, the Sports Personality of the Year award, which he collected before shooting off to Bedford to receive the BBC Sports Personality of the Year award for the East of England.

> A total of 11 other awards were handed out on the night – see page 54 for details.
