A HOARD of roller derby, zombie girls will rise this year to take part in the End of the World Series.

The Concrete Cows, MK’s roller derby team, will be bringing the sport to the city for the first time after competing around the UK for the past two years.

They will be challenging Northampton’s Vendetta Vixens and Bedford’s Rebellion Roller Derby by holding the year long tournament.

The first match will be played at Bletchley Leisure Centre on Saturday at 1.30pm. Tickets are just £10 on the door or £7.50 in advance from www.brownpapertickets.com/event/220264. You can also search for MKRollerDerby on Facebook. Luke Williams, whose partner plays for The Concrete Cows, said: “It’s not just any sports match, there’s an exciting atmosphere, with stalls, raffles and music.”
