Hard-working nurses in the hospital's emergency department proved a real tonic when they performed a gloom-busting song and dance routine on the ward.

The crew adapted the lyrics from Olly Murs' famous Dance With Me Tonight song and filmed their performance during a break.

The resulting video - taken by Abbie Witton - is now going viral on social media and has prompted scores of delighted comments from the public.

The lyrics continue: "Look around there’s a whole lotta nurses in it, and just like you, we shine so bright.

"I was wondering if you and me could spend a minute, gloves and apron, mask and goggles, getting lost in it. We won’t give up without a fight."

It continues: "You're hot and sweaty and feeling tied now, Runny nose, sore throat - is that a cough? ... You feel the virus moving through your body. Looking at you, i can tell that you need us. Okay then, if you're desperate, you can call for help.. You knew we’d care."

He added: "We all know the doctors and nurses at the hospital are rushed off their feet and working round the clock in this Covid-19 crisis. To see them taking a couple of minutes to sing and dance the blues away away is so reassuring. It just proves what a remarkable and resilient bunch of people they are."
