TWO city ice hockey players were members of the England Under 14s team which narrowly missed out on glory in an international tournament in Riga, Latvia.

Milton Keynes Storm members David Carson and Tom Mboya both put in impressive performances for England, earning praise from coach Tim Peacock.

He said: "Tom and David both worked really hard and came up with some big goals for the team at important times in the tournament. They were a credit to their country and to the Milton Keynes junior programme."

Tom received man of the match in two games and David in one.

England played ten games in four days, winning seven which took them to the final with Finnish opposition which they lost 2-1.
