LIGHTNING will do battle with old rivals Peterborough Phantoms twice next week in their bid to lift the EPL Knockout Cup.
The first leg of the final is at Peterborough on Tuesday at 7.45pm with the return game on Thursday also at 7.45pm.
Coach Nick Poole is in no doubt that the task will be tough with Phantoms on a good run since Christmas and having beaten Lightning twice last month.
But he believes his team are fully capable of winning the cup.
However with six games in eight days Poole said he will be taking the precaution of resting some of his squad – including himself – for the final league game at Guildford on Sunday.
Ahead of that Lightning hope to record their first win of the season against Slough Jets at Planet Ice on Saturday at 7pm.
Ross Bowers, who sustained a shoulder injury a couple of weeks ago, could be back but with back-up goalie David Wride sidelined with a broken leg Poole is considering his options for a number two to Barry Hollyhead.
