Three Slough Jets goals in the opening nine minutes wrecked any chance Milton Keynes Lightning had of pulling off a victory at The Hangar.
Although Lightning managed one goal in reply when Grant McPherson set up Ross Bowers to fire past goalie Dean Skinns after 7mins 55secs the cause became a lost one when Steve Moria hit Jets' fourth after 18mins 8secs.

That added to strikes by Nicky Chinn on 3mins 43secs and 8mins 23secs, plus a powerplay goal by Kevin Phillips after 4mins 32secs while Daniel Croft was sitting out a two plus two minute call for slashing and roughing.

Slough tightened their grip on the game as the second period got underay with Zoran Kozic registering after 23mins 42secs from Moria's pass.

Blaz Emersic then joined with Moria to set up the move which led to Kozic netting Jets sixth 1min 21secs from the end of the second period – two seconds after the end of a two minute delaying the game penalty on Mikko Skinnari.

The game was by this time a lost cause as far as Lightning were concerned but that did not stop Jets rounding off their tally on 56mins 46secs with a goal from Moria shortly before end of a penalty on Bowers for boarding.

Lightning scorers: Bowers 1+0, McPherson 0+1, Poole 0+1.

Nets – Hollyhead 30/6
Wride 6/1
