Belfast Giants' Leigh Jamieson, Milton Keynes Lightning's Ross Bowers and MK Thunder's Mark Woolf are giving up their time to help the MK Storm Under 14 prepare for the National Finals in May.

Milton Keynes Junior Ice Hockey Club is providing extra ice time for the squad as they prepare for the finals.

Lewis Clifford, the squad's regular coach, will be running the extra training sessions and the juniors will have the unique opportunity to take help and advice from the more experienced and skilled players Jamieson, Bowers and Woolf.

Even though this is the off season for the senior trio, the decision to help was easy. All began their careers in Milton Keynes and they said it is great to have the opportunity to put something back into the club.

Nick Poole, the director of coaching at the junior club, said: "The fact that some of our former juniors have offered their time is very gratifying and testament to the atmosphere we have here at the club."
The National Finals are in Sheffield on May 17 and 18.

The under 14s have just returned from a six day trip to the Czech Republic where the standard of junior training proved a real eye opener – youngsters there training for five hours a week compared with the one or two in the UK.
