Mittens and hats on, it’s time to go outside and enjoy some seasonal yuletide this weekend – here’s how to do it:
On Saturday night, Woburn Abbey is the stunning setting for the second annual Luminaries Woburnensis.
Visitors will experience the Abbey Gardens in a new light – walking through the atmospheric grounds by candlelight, with the soft glow of the luminaria lights along pathways, trees and the lake. Sounds lovely doesn’ it?
Starting things off, you will be able to launch a lotus flower lantern onto the lake, before decorating a lantern to guide your way around.
Her Grace the Duchess of Bedford has commissioned award-winning sculptors Glacial Art to create wow-some ice sculptures before your eyes, and the Woburn Sands Band will play festive tunes while you snuggle up under blankets and enjoy warming soup. Enjoy a real slice of the festive at the magnificent stately home.
Tickets are £9 for adults, £4 for children age 3-15 years.
The event will run between 5 and 10pm.
