A scrumptious family day out...

The Bighead
The Bighead

Whether you are a die-hard rugby fan, want to spend all day listening to live music or just need something to entertain the family, the Milton Keynes Rugby 7s Family Fun Day and Hobgoblin Music Festival ticks all the boxes.

Milton Keynes Rugby Club will open its doors from 9am on Saturday for breakfast and the British Lions vs Australia test match on large screens.

The rugby party continues all day with a top grade rugby 7s tournament from 10am until 6.30pm and over £1,000 of prizes on offer.

And the New Zealand vs France international will be screened in the afternoon...

If music is more your thing, the live music on the Hobgoblin outdoor stage from 11.30am until 8.45pm should quench your thirst for the best acts.

Featured performers include The Big Head, Oliver Whyman, Scott Blackledge, Jamie Stimpson & Mister V, Sophie Clarke and tribute acts celebrating musical A-listers Robbie Williams, Frank Sinatra and Neil Diamond.

There will be an outdoor bar, and food available all day, with ‘ladies night’ drink specials from 9pm in the clubhouse.

Family entertainment includes exhibitions from MK Elite cheerleading group, street dance from Frantic Flo and the Julie Herlihy School of Irish Dance.

Rugby Tots for aspiring forwards (or backs) provides the chance for little ones aged 6 and under to ruck, maul, scrum and line-out in their very own rugby games.

Add plenty of sweets, candy floss and toffee apples, a magician and global freestyle football legend Daniel Cutting into the mix and you have the makings of a perfect family day out.

This is the biggest combined rugby and music event in Milton Keynes and entry is free.

Car parking is available on site at Milton Keynes Rugby Club, Bowland Drive, Emerson Valley, for the whole day for £2.50.
