Bourne’s Terrific Supremacy

ONE of the annual highlights, so far as we are concerned, is the arrival of a Matthew Bourne production in town.

And our wish turns to reality this Tuesday with the return of Nutcracker! to the MK Theatre stage, playing as part of its 20th anniversary celebrations.

Wit, pathos and magical fantasy are sown into a sumptuous, bedazzlingly bright setting as Clara goes from a bleak Christmas Eve at Dr Dross’ Orphanage through a shimmering, ice-skating winter wonderland to the scrumptious candy kingdom of Sweetieland.

Those of you who have worked hard to stay on the new year straight and narrow, will fall at the first hurdle following this production and reach for something sweet and calorific...because as with all Bourne’s creations, this one is ever so tasty!

With its colourful, enveloping stance and Tchaikovsky’s wonderful score combined, you can snuggle down and lose that early year frown with the master of delivery.

Nutcracker! opens on Valentine’s Day and runs through to Saturday, February 18.

Prices start at £13, rising to £35.

Call with bookings on 0844 871 7652.
