Christmas cracker of a sing-song

THE NEW English Singers will be in song on Saturday morning at the Church of Christ the Cornerstone, with their Christmas concert.

‘A well balanced and finely crafted programme of carols old and new’, promise organisers, and that statement wont be challenged by anyone who has attended the event in previous years.

Adding to the Crimbo feel, post-service, seasonal refreshments will be served.

Tickets, including those refreshments – are £6.50 for adults, £2 for children and payable on the doors.

You’ll need to be at the venue nice and early to enjoy the sounds, mind – music will be filling the hall from

11.30am.

We keep with

the Church

of Christ the Cornerstone for Sunday’s afternoon event, The Mayor’s Carol Service.

Adrian Byonton is directing the Christmas Cracker event, and he’ll be back in the Church in time to lead the Cornerstone Choir through this session, from 3pm.

Everone is welcome to the services of lessons and carols.

Milton Keynes Community Choir hosts its own Christmas Concert on Saturday, at the Ridgeway Centre, Wolverton Mill South.

They will be joined by the MK Youth Choir, MK Brass and The Ian Riley Trio.

Doors open at 7.15pm, and the chorus of sound will go live from 7.45pm, carrying though to 10pm.

Tickets are £10 for adults, £2.50 for children (aged 15 years or under).

Aside from being a terrific seasonal sing-song, the event is also hoping to raise a terrific amount for charity – which is where you can help to make a difference.

Event programmes will be available in exchange for a cash donation OR a can of soup, baked beans, creamed rice, custard...you know the sort of thing.

All donated cans will be given over to MK Food Bank, to help make a difference this Christmas to those who are struggling to stay afloat in this tough economic climate.

It is such an easy way to make someone else’s day, and besides, not only is this the season to be jolly, it is the season of giving.

Reach into the food cupboard before reaching for your coat and making tracks to the concert.
