But did you know the musical ace was among the first musical artists to be banned by the BBC? Fifty years ago, his interpretation of the George Formby track With My Little Ukulele in My Hand was considered too risque for airing!
Things have moved on somewhat since those times of course, as has Joe’s career, which has always been on an upward curve.
Since his teenage years, Joe has been a ukulele player, and his 2011 release - cunningly titled The Ukulele Album, has been repackaged and reissued - this time with newly recorded tracks and a bonus live CD.
