YOU will be hard pushed to sample them all one sitting, and we aren’t suggesting you try, but there are 20 good reasons to attend the 9th Cock & Bull Real Beer Festival this week.

The two-day festival of the fizzy stuff begins on Friday lunchtime at the York House Centre in Stony Stratford.

Discerning drinkers of real ales, ciders and Fairtrade wines will be saying ‘cheers’ to a variety of tasty thirst-quenchers, and supplementing the locally produced beers will be those produced a little further away.

Cider fans will be licking their lips too, with five fruity numbers to choose from, including Appley Joy produced on our doorstep in Wolverton and Woughton.

Fairtrade wines have a space at the event too, but organisers know that not everyone wants an alcoholic beverage, and teetotallers aren’t being left out – with enough juices available by the glass as well.

Scrummy hot curries and various snacks will be for sale to soak up the wet-stuff and keep bellies happy.

On Saturday evening, music will soundtrack the glug-glug of happy drinkers, with live sets by Saturday Sun and eye2eye.

The Real Beer Festival not only makes for a nice excuse to have a swift half after work and a catch-up with your pals, it raises the coffers for the hosting venue – and York House is the only town’s only publically owned community centre.

For more information give www.cockandbull.org.uk a moment of your time.

The Beer Fest will run between midday and 11pm on Friday and Saturday.

Admission is free.
