With Chelsea Flower Show just about to bloom onto our screens, it is that time of year again when green-fingered gardeners are gearing up to eat, sleep and breathe all things horticultural.
What better way, then, for families to get involved than to join a week of celebrations at Dobbies Garden World.
This year marks the 100th anniversary of the much-lauded Chelsea Flower Show, where gardening gurus showcase their best plants, and the Dobbies Garden Festival will bring the enthusiasm to Milton Keynes.
The week-long celebration will run from Tuesday until Monday 27 May and is packed full of fun activities for all the family, from daily gardening workshops and flower arranging demonstrations to food tasting, strawberry planting and entertainment for youngsters (including flower sponge art and a gnome treasure hunt).
Customers will also have the chance to win prizes throughout the week and help raise funds for Dobbies’ local charity partner, Harry’s Rainbow.
Sue Tarr, community champion at Dobbies, said: “With everyone preparing to celebrate 100 years of Chelsea Flower Show, we thought we would bring the celebrations to our garden centre and treat our customers to a week of fun-filled activities for all the family to enjoy.
“Having won numerous awards at Chelsea Flower Show we are well-placed to offer expert advice and tips on how to grow award-winning plants and flowers.
“Customers will also be able to take advantage of our award-winning deals to help them get their very own Chelsea-look.”
As an added extra, on Thursday, between 5pm and 8pm, customers will be able to enjoy a sparkling refreshment and will be treated to strawberries dipped in chocolate on arrival to help them get into the mood for celebrating.
