A photographic exhibition about breast cancer is currently on display at The Olney Centre.
The work is designed to raise awareness of the illness while also creating an honest dialogue around the emotions, needs and changes that arise both during, and after treatment.
The collaborative exhibition is the result of works by photographers Elizabeth Beston and Wendy Grant, and Arts for health (Milton Keynes) and the Healthcare Charity:MK
Seven women and one man shared their experiences of having breast cancer, discussing the painful and funny moments, and offering practical advice in the process of piecing the show together.
The exhibition wants to take the mystery out of the treatment process and help those diagnosed to know what to expect.
“We are delighted to be able to show the exhibition at such a popular community centre as the Olney Centre,” said Sharon Paulger, director of MK Arts for Health.
“This will help the exhibition reach a wide audience and help to raise awareness about breast cancer.”
