Rosie Smith proved she can dress up to the nines as she won the Young Fashion Designer of the Year award at Midsummer Place.
Last Tuesday, more than 50 students hit the catwalk for the third running of the competition.
Five schools from across Milton Keynes took part, including MK College, The Hazeley Academy, Lord Grey, Stantonbury and Walton High, drawing in a crowd of over 400 spectators with their outstanding designs.
The judges chose Rosie Smith from MK College as the overall winner on the night, who won a day’s work placement at the State of Grace.
The judges came to their final decisions after extensively looking through the student’s course work which was submitted two weeks before the awards, and the final garments last night.
On the night there was also live entertainment from up and coming local artists, Dretonio, Jamie Stimpson and Mister V. All judges were outstanding with all the students work.
“All of the students work tonight has been to an extremely high level, we have seen work that would comfortably fit in to the high street stores, and also work that could see on some of the worlds catwalks” said Claire Grey.
“We chose Rosie Smith as the overall winner as she showed a very high technical level and we liked her use of fabrics and unique design.”
The other winners on the day were Charlene Grady, Megan Jarman and Lauren McVeigh.
