THE first annual MK Tattoo Convention is set to stick the needle in this weekend, with a mammoth two day extravaganza celebrating the very best in skin art.
The convention will be hosted at stadium:mk, with three floors of vendor, exhibition and entertainment areas.
The event will bring some of the biggest names in the tattoo industry direct to your door, and naturally you will have the opportunity to see some truly amazing designs on the skin too.
In Milton Keynes, Mike Stratton was the first registered professional tattoo artist, and he now has more than three decades worth of experience that he will bring to the masses at the show.
“Freed from the shackles of its former stigma, the scope of what is possible with needles in skin has been continually pushed by dedicated inksmiths and the only limit in the imagination,” he told GO!
“Tattoo studios are no longer in the back streets but mostly on the high street now, and Milton Keynes continues to be served by its local tattoo artists.”
The International Award Winner, who previously ran Bodyshock in the 90s, will be joined by fellow MK head Sascia Angel Marques who now resides over Inkvasion studio.
It’ll be a case of old meets new, as this convention will be Mikes 54th, and Sascia’s first!
Both skin artists will be showcasing some of the best modern tattoo art, along with a tattoo history of the area, and dozens of other specialists will also be attendance.
The big bash rolls on Saturday between 11am and 9pm, and Sunday, 11am-8pm.
Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult, and there is no cost for under 12s.
Day passes are £20, or make a big weekend of it for £35.
