The Milton Keynes Food and Leisure Awards, now into its sixth year, returns glitzy night of celebration at The Holiday Inn Saxon Gate in central Milton Keynes on Sunday, May 7.

The exciting awards recognise the hard-working hospitality industry and dedication of the people in the food and leisure industry.

The Best Chef category sees local chefs battle it out in a live cook off event at Bedford College on April 5 when each contestant creates starters from a mystery box that contains local produce and produce from Milton Keynes, main dishes chosen and designed by the chef and a dessert. To celebrate Milton Keynes being 50 this year, each chef has to design a dessert from the 60s and bring it into the future.

Other categories for the awards include best restaurant, newcomer, waiter/waitress of the year, pub, Asian restaurant, family restaurant of the year. There are also awards for the best bar, hotel, attraction in MK, café/coffee shop, best local food product/produce and best local drink product/produce and best street food vendor.
