Sponsors for Food Awards revealed

THE full of list of sponsors for the inaugural Milton Keynes Food & Leisure Awards has been revealed.

The awards, which aim to honour the best restaurants, pubs, hotels, chefs, gyms and destinations in the city, are due to take place at the Swan Inn in Milton Keynes Village on May 13.

The Citizen has given its full backing to the contest.

The full list of sponsors is as follows:

Skyline: The largest and oldest taxi firm in Milton Keynes, Skyline Taxis pride them selves on offering a professional reliable service no matter who you are or where you are going. They have an interest in service in general and support the growth of MK.

Based in the heart of Milton Keynes shopping centre, Phelans Jewellers both manufacture and retail fine quality diamond jewellery.

MK Hoteliers: The association for all hotels in MK.

Illy Coffee: One of the biggest coffee brands in the world.

Savona: This family run business is a supplier of high quality wholesale food and non-food products. Born and bred in Oxford more than 50 years ago, Savona has grown alongside its broad and expanding customer base to cover most of Southern England and the Midlands.

Costco wholesale: Will be supplying the cheese board for the event.

The judges for the competition consist of MK Dons manager Karl Robinson, Sun journalist Lee Price, Paris House chef Phil Fanning, the Citizen’s deputy editor Craig Lewis and MK College enterprise manager Mark Lewis.

Swan Inn manager Tyrone Bentham said: “It is an honour to be hosting the first MK Food Awards. The competition is intense, which increases the excitement and anticipation.

“I can’t believe the quality of the judging panel, the weight they throw behind it gives it the credibility it deserves.

“Now it is down to the public to get involved and cast their votes.”

“I think this is, as an annual event, will help put MK on the map as a place to eat.”
