Hula Animal Rescue is hosting a Winter Warmer event on Sunday, raising much necessary coffers for the centre between 1pm and 3.30pm.
Early-bird visitors will be able to feed the farm animals at 1.30pm, and there will be a grand parade of Hula’s dogs, at 2pm.
If you want to splash the cash on your own pets, there will be lots of bargains in the bazaar and at the pet bed shed –including Christmas presents for your four-legged pals.
Children can take part in a special animal winter care workshop and even if it is nippy on the day, you won’t feel the chill – simply take a cup of something warming from over at ‘The Trough’ cafe.
Book worms in need of a fix will be spoiled for choice too, with a massive book sale also set.
All monies raised at the event will be ploughed straight back into looking after the animals in Hula’s care, at the Aspley Guise centre.
Admission is £2 for adults, accompanied children go free.
> When Frances Bell came up with the idea of knitting cute Christmas ornaments to raise funds for the animal centre, some people might have thought she had the wool pulled over her eyes. Not so.
Instead, her knitted niceties have raised £700...and rising.
Forget the usual mass-producedtree decorations, and take some of Frances’ fab creations instead – designs include Santa and Mrs Claus, flying pigs and angels., and they are all perfectly formed!
Frances is still taking orders, so put in your requests and help Hula’s residents have a Happy Christmas in the process.
