Back on the local stage for their annual visit from Tuesday are Glyndebourne.

The opera company will be in residence until Saturday and have three productions ready to wow you – Humperdink’s Hansel Und Gretal, Donizetti’s L’Elisir D’Amore and Britten’s The Rape of Lucretia.

You expect productions of the highest standard with Glyndebourne and they never fall short of the mark.

This run will be no exception.

“Glyndebourne remains steadfast in its desire to invest in the future of both audiences and performers and the tour does this in two important ways – by bringing world-class performances to new audiences and by bringing new talent to the fore,” said company general manager David Pickard.

The tour is the culmination of more than 550 hours of rehearsal and boasts a cast of 23 soloists, 37 choristers, 119 musicians and 20 children...that’s quite some undertaking.

Ticket prices start at £25 and rise to £60.
