A MASTERCHEF style competition is already tantalising taste buds and only round one has taken place so far.
Food critics enjoyed an array of fine food when the first heat of the Chef’s Challenge, cooked up by the Chamber of Commerce, was held on February 10.
Beneath the exquisite chandeliers in the stunning restaurant at the ExtraCare Village in Willen, three professional Head Chefs served their guests with personally created, signature, winter warmer dishes.
Paul Gallagher, from the Doubletree by Hilton, Dan Cameron, from Navigation Inn, and Harun Ali, from Naidni in Stony Stratford, used locally sourced produce to create their culinary treats.
All three competitors were limited to the same budget and cooked up their magnificent meals in the high-quality Village kitchen.
Braised Blade of Beef went head-to-head with Lamb Three Ways and A Twist of Chicken, all three dishes enticing the judges with their mouth-watering flavours.
After an equally delicious dessert, the 55 food critics cast their votes and judged Dan Cameron, from Navigation Inn, and prior finalist on the television programme MasterChef, as the winner.
The next rounds will be held on March 3 and 24 and the final is on April 14.
