Are you sitting comfortably?

There is just time enough to visit Milton Keynes Arts Centre for the exhibition We Designed Chairs, which winds up on Saturday.

MK-based artist Tom Nash, currently studying MA Painting at the Royal College of Art, approached eight artists and asked them to begin a conversation around the design and construction of a chair.

Each creative had absolute creative freedom, but the outcome had to be an object.

See what evolved at the MK Arts Centre in Parklands, Great Linford.

The centre is open 10am to 4pm and you’ll get more information by calling MK 608108.

> A ‘New Year, New Beginnings’ charity ball is being held this Friday night, at the Hilton Hotel.

The black tie bash will begin with a champagne reception at 7.30pm, before guests enjoy a three-course dinner, dancing, band, magician and auction.

Tickets are £40 and proceeds will be going to the Benji Charity, which is supporting the rebuild and transformation of a children’s orphanage in Hartebeesfontein, South Africa. The orphanage needs practical and financial aid.
