Everyone’s favourite swamp-dwelling ogre is on his way to Milton Keynes Theatre as the larger-than-life production Shrek the Musical comes to the new city direct from London.
The solitary Shrek, motormouth Donkey, magically cursed Princess Fiona and all their fairytale co-stars were seen by nearly a million people during the show’s west-end run and now the characters are hitting the road.
The all-singing, all-dancing family-friendly musical will be directed by Nigel Harman, who starred as the hugely hilarious (but short of stature) Lord Farquaad in the Drury Lane production.
Nigel said: “This show is very special to me with its dizzying blend of great characters, a hilarious script and sublime music.
“This production is visually stunning, and the story has the magic ingredient of moving at a great pace while still being surprisingly intimate.
“I really can’t wait to take this show on the road!”
Shrek the Musical is due to go on sale at Milton Keynes Theatre early in 2014 so keep a look out for on-sale announcements very soon at www.atgtickets.com/miltonkeynes.
