Pearl Handled Revolver take the lead at The Craufurd Arms this Friday evening, and they’ve got the blues.
But they have also gone to great lengths to explain that they don’t have ‘the slow mournful Blues sat on a porch bemoaning hard luck, bad signs and ill fated liaisons at cross roads.
‘Nor the 12 bars hammered into mediocrity and engrained like spilled beer and nicotine into the carpets of pubs up and down the country,’ say they.
Nope, the PHR flavour comes with far more fizz.
“The Blues isn’t about history, safety, tradition and convention. it permeated everything. It’s primal, visceral, raw and dirty...”
Which sounds pretty darned nice from here, and it’ll sound loads better at The Craufurd – we know, because we’ve caught them in the act before.
This Mountain Waits, their second long-player, was released earlier this year through King Mojo Records and is a sterling example of their playability.
These fella’s are really good.
Go see for yourselves.
Tickets are £6 on the doors from 7.30pm and support is coming from Henry’s Funeral Shoe.
