If you want a truly big day out, Properstock! is the only real way to go this week – with close to 100 bands, musicians, DJs and poets set to flatten the grass around Bradwell Abbey this Saturday.
The fourth annual event is the biggest so far, with six stages giving you your fill between midday and 10pm.
“We are proud to have extended our network this time and have combined our skills with The Craufurd Arms, Sick in the Head promotions and Surface Potential – adding these fine music services to our already stellar working team,” said Properstock! founder Ben Platt.
Headliners this year include MK heavyweights Heart of a Coward (below), former King Prawn bassist Babar Luck, and ‘hardcore dub steppers’ Seething Akira.
Others showing up and sounding out on the day include Manny and the Coloured Sky, Without Reason, Project Noise, All Tied Up, RSI, The Get Gone, Invocation, Seethe and Point of Extinction.
Deep breath, here’s some more: The Candyman, Danny Darko, Ernest Herb, Soul Urban Poet, Montmartre, Reece Chown, Jet Lagged Jeff and the Po Boys, Ocasan, Dub Lions, Lady Swing and Muddy Feet.
Even before Saturday’s rush of sound, plans are afoot for 2015...which will be bigger still: “It’s no secret that the next phase for Properstock! will be a weekend festival with camping,” Ben added.
“Plans are starting to fall into place and we will announce details as soon as we can!
“But for now, let’s get together again to celebrate local music, businesses and each other!”
Music aside for a moment, and there are more than 50 stalls and vendors to get stuck into, with hot and cold food, clothes, fun fair, circus skills workshops and a holistic therapy dome to enjoy.
Gates open at 11am and admission is free.
