Some of the ‘best under-the-radar songwriters’ from in and around the area will be converging at The Stables on Saturday evening, when music organisation Aortas invites you to sample some of the best of their chosen genre.
The gig is the culmination of no fewer than 12 competition heats held earlier in the year at venues around Milton Keynes, Buckingham and Northampton.
Those of you taking tickets and pinning back your ears at the event will also be helping an international songwriting panel to choose two people who will join expenses paid workshops both here, and in Denmark.
Hundreds of songs have been written as a result of the Aortas sessions and you will be able to hear some of those responsible – from Milton Keynes, check Naomi Rose and Barney Glanvill.
Buckingham-based Jimmy Brewer and Northampton-based songwriters Myjaike, Corinne Lucy and Peter Marchant will all be taking turns under the spotlight.
“Over the past few months I’ve seen some remarkable, unique, and very talented performers – people who I might never otherwise have come across, and I am looking forward to a buzzing night at The Stables,” anticipates Aortas founder Dan Plews, left.
Tickets are £6 and you can get them, and more information about all of the artists performing, by visiting www.aortas.org.uk or put in a call to 07801 796216.
