SHE is known to millions as Lady Cora in the ITV smash-hit Downton Abbey.

The saga of the Grantham’s has captivated our nation, and viewers across the world.

For her role in the period drama, actress Elizabeth McGovern has earned Golden Globe and Emmy Nominations.

They are just the latest highlights in a career of plenty for the American success, who has previously worked with Robert De Niro, Sean Penn and Brad Pitt.

Not a bad list of co-stars to have assembled, eh girls?

But Elizabeth has temporarily ditched the Abbey in preference of the live stage, fronting the band Sadie and the Hotheads....what would the Earl of Grantham say?!

“It’s an Americana kind of sound, a mix of country and rock and roll,” the frontlady explains.

“When I’m doing it I become more American, which is partly why I like it.

“But, oddly enough it’s as if I needed to be in London to discover this side of myself,” says the lady who has spent the past 20 years on this side of the pond.

The band are all accomplished, ace players in their own right, as you can hear on the current album How Not To Lose Things, which was released at the tail end of last year.

“I am in awe of the musicians I had the opportunity to work with on this project,” she says, “With good humour and joy in their art they begin to gives me faith.”

Later this month the band will wrap up a brief UK tour with a date at The Stables in Wavendon, and we have the perfect competition whether you are a Downton Abbey fan or a sucker for their country meets rock n roll fusion.

GO! has two pairs of tickets to give away to the show, and each winner will also get a meet and greet with Elizabeth on the evening.

To top it all off, we’ll also throw in a signed poster and CD for each pair.

To be in with a chance of winning, simply tell us the name of the character played by Elizabeth in Downton Abbey.

It’s that simple!

Mark your entry ‘Cora! What a competition!’ and send it, together with your name, address and a daytime telephone number to: Citizen Newsdesk, Napier House, Auckland Park, Bond Avenue, Bletchley, MK1 1BU.

The closing date for entries is Wednesday, February 13, 2013, and the first two correct entries pulled after this date will each win the tickets and meet and greet.

Usual Citizen terms and conditions apply.
