On Sunday 8 September, Tri for Life will be returning to Woburn Abbey for its sixth year and invites participants and spectators alike.

Three different races will take place: a stand-alone 10km run, a scootathlon for four to eight year olds and a duathalon for nine to 15 year olds. There will also be a mini funfair on the site, ensuring enjoyment for all of the family.

Having raised £1.25 million for a variety of charities to date, Tri for Life is aiming to reach the £1.5 million mark in 2013, making it one of the largest charity-focused UK triathlons.

Tri for Life’s ‘no minimum sponsorship, no race’ policy means that all participants have to raise money for one of its four charity partners, Ray of Sunshine, Whizz Kidz, Great Ormond Street Children’s Charity or Breakthrough Breast Cancer, ensuring a high overall sum.

The organisation is also delighted to be Powered by Prezzo this year, with 175 members of Prezzo staff taking part in the hope of raising over £40,000.

“Prezzo have been wonderful supporters for Tri for Life over the past three years and we are delighted that they have chosen to be our corporate partner for this year’s event” says Marcus Anselm, Tri for Life trustee.

Lack of kit has been a barrier for novices in the past, but this year the organisation has teamed up with various specialist triathlon retailers to provide wetsuits and bike hire at competitive prices, meaning that everyone has the chance to take part.

Marcus adds “2013 will be a massive year for us and we’re delighted and privileged to be returning to Woburn Abbey.”
