For the past year, The Tiny Bakers in New Bradwell has been providing bread to neighbours, the community and a local café.
But now the shutters have come down on the business – owner Venetta Leyland and her family are relocating to Cheshire.
Venetta ran the business from her home, producing artisan breads using organic, stone-ground flour produced locally, in a restored watermill.
The tasty venture will be missed by those who frequented The Tiny Bakers, but our loss is Cheshire’s gain, as she plans to continue the business at her new home.
Venetta wanted a brass band send-off, and on Sunday she got her wish – with a performance by the Wolverton Town Band, who braved the cold to play their musical farewell.
“I absolutely loved the session and so did the guests,” said Venetta.
“Everyone commented on what a lovely idea it was and what a lovely send-off.
“We can’t thank Wolverton Town Band enough for such a memorable afternoon.”
