Youngsters do battle at home of the Dons
The goals flowed as the SRBE Milton Keynes and Border Counties Youth League cup competitions reached their conclusion at the weekend.

The finals, all backed by the Citizen, were played at stadium:mk on Saturday and Sunday courtesy of MK Dons chairman Pete Winkelman and the MK Dons.

There were a total of seven Citizen Cup finals played out with the U13, U15, U17 and U18 finals played on Saturday and the U12, U14 and U16 finals played on Sunday.

And there were a total of 25 goals scored in the seven thoroughly entertaining and sporting games.

The first final on Saturday saw Newport Pagnell Town Panthers record a 3-0 win over West Bletchley in the U13 clash thanks to goals from Sam Botham, Hans Korge and Ryan Smith.

West Bletchley then got revenge on Panthers when they lifted the U15 Citizen Cup with a 2-0 win, Mason Spence netting a brace for the winners here.

The U17 final saw Brackley Athletic ease to a 4-1 win over Olney Town Colts with Ryan Arnott, Peter Stanford and Robert Hanbridge on target for the winners with David Mulvihill netting for Olney.

The U18 final – rearranged from Friday night to Saturday because of MK Dons' involvement in the League One play-offs – rounded off Saturday's entertainment, Waterhall Stars edging out Central Milton Keynes 1-0 with the goal from Richard Coggins.

It was all back to stadium:mk for the remaining three finals the following day, West Bletchley lifting the U12 Citizen Cup thanks to their 2-1 win over Bletchley Youth.

Liam Cottington and Liam Murphy struck the goals for West Bletchley with Henry Jackson on target for Bletchley Youth.

Moretonville got the better of Willen Junior Blues 2-1 after extra time in the U14 final, Tom Blake grabbing a brace for the winners with Tobi Osobu scoring for the losers.

The U16 finale then saw MK Wanderers triumphant thanks to a 5-3 win over Scot Youth with Pius Offori netting all five goals for the winners with Josh Fagen (2) and Nathan Olukanmi scoring for Scot.

The finals festival was all part of the league's 40th anniversary celebrations celebrations.

At each final the teams were lined up before a presentation party, the national anthem then played. The presentation of trophies to the match officials, runners-up and winners then followed each game.

It all made for a day to remember for each of the youngsters.
