MK Dons manager Paul Ince has revealed that he is already chasing "five or six players" for next season.

His side only lifted the League Two title last Saturday but The Guv'nor says he has already began making plans for life in League One next season, and already has targets in mind to strengthen his squad.

He said: "As soon as I knew we were getting promoted, I had to start getting in there before other people do.

"We have five or six targets that we are looking at for next season.
"People will have to go too, but that's the way football goes, people come in and people go out.

"We've got to make sure we keep improving and growing as a club."

And making it even harder for those players on the fringes of the squad is the fact that more and more players are now wanting to come and play for the Dons.

Ince added: "What we have done this year is become an attractive club for players. They want to come and play for us and I've been on the phone constantly to agents who are saying to me: 'He wants to come here; so and so wants to play for you.'"

And Ince has paid tribute to the Dons' fans after 17,250 packed into stadium:mk for the game against Morecambe.

"The fans have been really awesome to me, they have took me under their wing and I can't say any more about how great they have been.

"I said when I first came here that I want to put Milton Keynes on the map, and now we've done that.

"This season has been great but now we've got to look ahead to the next one."
