Dean made club captain
Having taken the armband for their last three outings, long-serving full-back Dean Lewington has been given the captaincy of MK Dons on a permanent basis.

The 24 year-old takes over from former skipepr Keith Andrews after his move to Blackburn Rovers.

As the club's longest standing player and only survivor of the re-location from south London, Lewington has made coming on 250 appearances for the Dons, including 53 in last season's double winning season.

"Lewie has been our captain for a few games now and he'll continue to be so, while Sean O'Hanlon will be the club's vice-captain," said Dons boss Roberto Di Matteo.

"Lewie is the club's longest-serving player, he's a big character with a strong personality and he's a bubbly person as well.

"He's a great player and well respected in the club and team, so personally I think he's the right choice.

And the new skipper will out to defend his unbeaten league record as Dons captain when he leads them out against Swindon Town at stadium:mk on Saturday.
