Teenager airlifted from football pitch
AN air ambulance was rushed to an under 16s football match after it was feared a player had a serious neck injury.

Nathaniel Brown fell heavily when playing for MK Wanderers B against Southside United Strikers at Kents Hill playing fields on Sunday.

A Citizen reader sent in this dramatic picture as the Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance landed in the middle of the pitch to give Nathaniel, 15, treatment.

Fortunately the youngster's injuries were not as bad as first feared. He was taken to Milton Keynes Hospital with soft tissue damage of his neck and has now been discharged.

MK Wanderers chairman Neill Davy told the Citizen: "He was in quite a bit of pain, but fortunately it wasn't too serious."

Nathaniel has since been given neck exercises to do and should get back to full fitness soon.

Southside won the Milton Keynes and Border Counties Youth Football League U16 Division One game 4-2.
