Run raises cash for cancer unit
A Bletchley schoolgirl has raised £1,000 for Milton Keynes Hospital as a thank you to staff who treated her mother for cancer.

Amy Stewart ran a sponsored half-marathon so she could present a cheque to the Macmillan Unit where mum Christine was successfully treated for lymphoma.

Mrs Stewart said her 15-year-old daughter wanted to give something to the unit to help others.

"I received excellent care at Milton Keynes Hospital and Amy was inspired to raise as much money as possible by the way that I was looked after.

Unit manager Alison Sandaver praised Amy for her dedication in completing the run.
