Proud moment for Blind Born Free Foundation supporter
Fundraiser Brian Eddies says he was captivated meeting the graceful figurehead of his newest charity project.
Brian has become a local volunteer with the Born Free Foundation and had a private get together with Virginia McKenna OBE – its film star founder.
Brian, of Central Milton Keynes, travelled to Horsham, West Sussex, with his companion guide dog Duchess, where he found out about the charity's work helping animals in the wild and in captivity.
Delighted Brian said: " I was so thrilled to have met Virginia, one of the most dedicated and inspirational animal advocates of our time."
Virginia McKenna is one of our greatest stage and screen actresses, appearing in The Cruel Sea, Carve her Name with Pride, A Town Like Alice, Ring of Bright Water, Waterloo and, of course, Born Free with her late husband Bill Travers.
