Recycling initiative to be introduced
BLIND people will find it easier to recycle soon.
Milton Keynes Council is issuing specially textured sacks that visually-impaired householders will be able to tell by touch are different from the black sacks they use for non-recyclable rubbish.
Waste collector Cory Environmental has already introduced the distinctive sacks at Southend.
James Goldsworthy, a volunteer for Buckinghamshire Association for Blind and Partially Sighted People, said: "The new sacks are instantly recognisable, particularly when holding the whole roll.
"I have sometimes mistakenly put recycling in black sacks and as a result it hasn't been collected."
