Record results for this year's Wilen Lake event
More than £17,000 was raised by this year's Dragon Boat Festival.

In its seventh year, the event saw a record number of local businesses compete on Sunday (June 29).

Teams battled it out over a 250-metre course and after a gruelling day the victors were Lifestyle Express representing Landmark Wholesale.

Merklyn Hauck of organisers, Gable Events, said: "This year's Milton Keynes Dragon Boat Festival was the most successful ever with a record number of participants and sponsors.

"Even racing ten dragon boats rather than the usual eight we had to turn a number of companies away because of the event's popularity."

Kyrin's Super Heroes from Friends of Kyrin won the Charity Trophy and a meal out, pledging more than £4,700 of a total estimated at more than £17,000 for nominated Festival charity, Keech Cottage Children's Hospice.
