MILTON Keynes posties have voted unanimously for possible industrial action to fight claimed moves to axe the city's sorting centre.
More than 50 members of the Communication Workers' Union gathered on Sunday to discuss what they say are Royal Mail plans to create a 'super-centre' serving Milton Keynes, Northampton and Coventry at M1 Junction 15 or 15A.

John Farnan, CWU divisional representative said the mood was determined: "With expansion Milton Keynes needs its own mail centre."

Mr Farnan said it was not just about the jobs that could be lost, the CWU estimates up to 500 could go.

"And we are not saying keep Dawson Road at all costs.

"Transporting MK's mail 30 miles up the motorway and then back again does not make sense," he said.
