More chaos on West Coast Line

Rail travellers have faced delays with two days of signalling problems on the West Coast Main Line.
Yesterday (Thurs) a signal failure near Milton Keynes caused some travellers to be stranded for up to two hours and today (Fri) Virgin and London Midland Train services have been affected by signal failures at Northampton.

That saw significant changes to the timetables this morning.

Less than a fortnight ago a signal failure near Bletchley was blamed by Network Rail for causing disruption to thousands of commuters after the Bank Holiday.

Network Rail has admitted cables supplying trackside signals are 'fragile' after 40 years use.
