No change at Milton Keynes Council
The city moves into a third successive year of no overall control following yesterday's council elections.
Liberal Democrats remain the biggest party with 21 seats, over the Tories on 20 and Labour ten.
Despite making five gains, the Conservatives were unable to topple the Lib Dems, now entering a seventh year as the major party.
The main casualty was Labour who saw its support collapse dramatically. They fell back as the minor opposition party, losing four seats.
The Conservatives gained Labour strongholds of Bletchley & Fenny and Stantonbury among their scalps.
The Lib Dems also prised Wolverton away from Labour after a recount.
Lib Dem Sam Crooks was also made to fight hard again to hang onto Middleton, where there was also a second check on the votes.
Lib Dem Council Leader Isobel McCall said: "All the predictions of doom and gloom haven't turned out to be true."
Her party were expected to suffer big losses in the wake of the school build scandal.
