Makers of the popular BBC programme Antiques Roadshow are urging people
to raid their attics and dust down the family heirlooms ready for the programme's visit to Bletchley Park.

The Roadshow's doors open at 9.30am on Sunday July 12 so there's still plenty of time to contact show organisers about bringing along large items to be valued.

Series editor Simon Shaw said: "It's a scary prospect when we turn up for a day's filming with no knowledge of what might turn up.

"Amazingly we still keep finding fascinating pieces and some of the best
aren't necessarily the most valuable."

The organisers are advising anyone visiting the show to be prepared for typical British weather and to wear comfy shoes.

In the past customers have 'camped out' in car parks to ensure a good position in the queue.

One couple even flew all the way from New Zealand, only to find the brooch they were having valued did not match the price of travelling to the UK.

The Roadshow, presented by Fiona Bruce, is quieter in the afternoon and as long as visitors are in the main queue by 4.30pm they are guaranteed to see an expert.
