A TEENAGER is in hospital after jumping from the second floor of a derelict flat in Bletchley to escape a thrown petrol bomb.

The incident took place on Tuesday night after a fight broke out between youths just off Queensway. A 16-year-old boy was chased and managed to get into empty flats in Lennox House, above Bedworld.

The group attacking the youth found him and apparently threw a petrol bomb into the building, forcing the boy to jump from the second-storey window.

He was taken to Milton Keynes Hospital with leg injuries, and is in a stable condition.

A local businessman told the Citizen: "There was a fight around the corner, the guy managed to get away and got into one of the flats through a bit of broken board.

"He was hiding in the top floor and they threw a petrol bomb.

"He had nowhere to go so had to jump.

"I've seen the damage to the room and it's quite bad, it must have been quite a big explosion."

Luckily the flats either side of the room that was hit are empty after another fire in September last year and firefighters were able to put out the blaze before it damaged the shops below.

Two 18-year-olds and a 16-year-old, all from Bletchley, have been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life, and remain in custody.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact
Detective Sergeant Dave Barker on 08458 505 505.
