City fireman set to launch new training sessions
A city fireman is launching kettlebell training classes in Newport Pagnell on Sunday and is looking for people to get into the 'swing' of things.

Joe Allen, a former Royal Marine, is a personal trainer in his spare time and is now looking to raise the profile of kettlebell training with his new classes, which will be open for men and women over the age of 16.

Kettlebell training is a unique exercise that sees users moving balls of differing weights using technique as opposed to brute force and Joe believes it is one of the most effective ways of improving core strength and losing weight.

"Kettlebell training is harder and more effective than weight training," he said.

"It is different from using a dumb-bell in that its handle is outside the centre of mass and so it creates extra force when being moved. This will really get your heart going, combining a cardio and muscular workout."
