Watch footage from Robert Di Matteo's first press conference as MK Dons manager.
MK Dons chairman Pete Winkelman said it was Roberto Di Matteo's ambition that made him sure he should be the club's new manager.

Winkelman unveiled his new manager to the world this morning, his fourth in as many years, and believes Di Matteo will be a success in his his first managerial position.

He said: "When I met Roberto there was an instant thought of can I give this person responsibility and will he accept it and do his best.

"And that is something that absolutely came across to me. I am very
confident about this appointment and looking forward to what Roberto will bring.

"We are both taking a risk in terms of working with each other. But I think ultimately I have learnt not to be scared of change, football's nature is about change, opportunity, different things happening and very often it is about the way the football club deals with that."

You will struggle to find a more ambitious person than the Dons' chairman, and he said that is a quality he sees in the former Italy midfielder.

"We are a very ambitious football club and Roberto is a very ambitious young man and I think that there is a collision of interests there that is very positve.

"But at the same time this is football and I have learnt to see both the ups and downs and you can take nothing for granted, what it really comes down to is people that are prepared to work very hard, have that ambition and try and install that quality in what you do and I am sure that is what Roberto will do."
