A BRAND new sports car for a quid?

That's an offer that's sure to attract plenty of interest as we all gear up to a credit crunch Christmas.

And the Milton Keynes Community Car Raffle, now in its 20th year, has a peach of a jackpot prize on offer.

Volkswagen has re-launched the iconic VW Scirocco this year and donated one of the sporty models as the annual raffle's main attraction.

The prize car went on display outside Marks & Spencer in thecentre:mk today (Friday).

The grant-making Milton Keynes Community Foundation charity organises the raffle each year and all money raised through ticket sales goes to support local charities and community groups.

Since 1989 the car raffle has raised nearly £700,000 for the local
community.

Almost 100 local charities and community groups have grabbed a chance to sell the £1 tickets this year over the Christmas period.

Regular raffle supporters the Ark Charity Milton Keynes will be selling tickets on the first day of the event, which runs through until January 4.
