A Level success for Denbigh students

Students are celebrating excellent A level results at Denbigh School.

There were some outstanding individual performances, with the top 10 students securing the equivalent of 4 A* grades each, in a year where national high achievement slumps.

The overall student pass rate increased to 100%, well in excess of the National pass rate, whilst 75% of entries were A* to C grade.

In the STEM subjects at A Level students secured 53% A* to B, at a time when these subjects are struggling nationally.

Head teacher Andy Squires: said “I am very proud of what our students have achieved in their Year 13 examinations. This is a result of their hard

work and determination over the last two years. Students, staff and parents, rightly, have high aspirations; in an increasingly competitive environment, I am delighted that our students have secured top university places, apprenticeships and employment opportunities within their chosen fields.”

Mr Squires added: “This year we have three students leaving to study at Oxford, for Maths, Chemistry and History. We also have students taking up places at

Durham for Medicine and the LSE for Economics.

“We wish all our students well in their further studies.”
