Wolverton husband and wife team Naomi and David Lutman are joining three friends in a mega cycle challenge in aid of Cancer Research UK.
They’re setting off on mountain bikes from the Brecon Beacons on Saturday (August 21) and hope to finish in Portsmouth on Sunday with an overnight stop in Bath.
Freelance artist Naomi, 35, said: “We’re carrying our own gear and doing our own repairs. It’s a huge challenge and we’ve been training hard. We’ll be following cycle trails and canal paths and decided on the route because it’s hilly and a lovely landscape to ride through.
“I’m not really an athlete but I’m looking forward to it.”
Naomi’s mum, Carole Plowman, died of cancer in 2012. She was only 66.
The team is also riding in memory of other family members and friends, those who continue to fight the illness and the family and friends who support them, and those involved in medical research.
